MissNicole16: I can't stand having Thanksgiving w/o having Typical/Traditional meals....It's what makes Thanksgiving.
Hell half the stuff I make for Thanksgiving I don't like, but it's not the same if it's not on the table.
How about...
Novelhead: pizza, Bloody Mary, porn.

LinusMines: ...for me, anyway. Vegetarian dinner-for-one...no tofurkey, thanks.

jtown: This is going to be my first thanksgiving ever without a traditional home-cooked meal. I was going to go up to my dad's house (about 700 miles away!) but he said they're all going to a restaurant for dinner. A nice one but WTF?!? I love holiday meals with that side of the family. It's always an insane chaos of food prep spread across half a dozen houses all over town yet they somehow all manage to converge within about 10 minutes at my uncle's house and we gorge for hours. I love it.

But they're going to a restaurant.

So I called my grandpa. I figured he'd be cooking a turkey with his girlfriend and her granddaughter. That's always a nice, calm, traditional meal. Nope. She's going down south to visit a friend for thanksgiving and he doesn't feel like cooking. We're going to a restaurant. Again, a nice one but it's still a restaurant.

Almost asked the girl who has a crush on me if I could go home with her. Maybe I'll buy my own turkey and cook it.
...
robynette: We either spend Thanksgiving at my house where I cook, or we got to my dad's where his wife cooks. This year though, my dad is coming here and I'm cooking for him for the first time in my life. I've never cooked for him before. It's wild.

We're having:

Ham with cherry glaze
Smoked turkey
Mashed potatoes (with white and brown gravy)
Candied yams
Corn
Green bean casserole
Fruit salad (with cool whip and little marshmellows)
Deviled eggs
Banana bread
Pumpkin bread
Rolls
Cherry pie

While everyone waits for the food, there will be cheese balls, crackers, chex mix, christmas cookies, pickles, olives, chips, and nice summer sausage.
