Bad. Just when I decided to buy a new car, the price of gas started to shoot through the roof. Now all the idiots who bought SUVs they didn't really need are trading them in for small cars and it's taken me 4 weeks to get the car I want. Maybe. We'll see if it's actually delivered today. Nevermind the price increase. Same car was rolling off the lots for $800 less last year. Enough to buy 7 or 8 months' worth of gas for that car. :P

bad in the short term, but possibly good in the long term. I don't like that it costs me more to go to work, and I don't like that gas companies are sucking the marrow out of the economy's bones, but there is potential for reducing oil consumption, developing sustainable energy, and reducing the prevalence of car culture in the US.
